Carl Bauerle

Carl Wilhelm Friedrich Bauerle was born in Germany in 1831. Little is known about his life but he appears to have made a successful living as a painter of genre scenes focusing particularly on depictions of children. Most of his extant works are slightly sentimental in tone and would have appealed particularly to the Victorian art-buying public. Carl Bauerle died in 1912.
