Peter Baron

Born in Amersham in 1944, Peter Baron, has been interested in drawing and water colour painting form an early age. Childhood visits to London galleries and museums introduced him to the work of artists such as Turner and Constable, which inspired him to take up painting as a career. He is entirely self-taught and developed his skills as a painter by studying great masters such as Macke, Derain and van Gogh. Travel has also been a great inspiration. As a child, he spent holidays on the Cote d'Azur, and, as an adult, trips to Hawaii, the Australian Coast, the Canary Islands and the Mediterranean have provided endless subject matter. Peter Baron likes minimalist subjects which convey deeper messages and feelings, and the sea and beaches of the world lend themselves perfectly to his style. He takes his inspiration from the world about him, and in particular from his love of sailing, the sea and music, to create his original paintings on canvas. He is proud to be a member of no artistic societies and to have participated in no official exhibitions during his career, preferring instead to deal directly with his clients and patrons. Peter Baron's work has been sold in London to collectors around the world.
