Alfred Augustus Glendening Jnr

Alfred Glendening was the son of a succesful landscape artist and began his career as a railway clerk, until he also took up painting as a career. Primarily, he was a painter of genre scenes and he worked in the second half of the 19th century. He lived in London, where he painted many of his works, and died in 1907. Glendening was a member of the Royal Society of British Artists, and frequently exhibited at the Royal Academy and at Suffolk Street, from 1880.
