Sophie Golaz

Born in 1962 in Geneva, this Swiss artist of delicate floral water-colours collected an impressive array of degrees. She studied Art at the Collége Claparêde, French, History of Art and Psychology at the University of Geneva, and Decorative Arts at the Geneva School of Decorative Art. In 1985 Sophie Golaz left Switzerland for Monaco and worked in interior design for one year before obtaining a Diploma of Graphic Art and Illustration in Nice. At this time she began to paint in water-colour and her success as an illustrator for books and magazines led to further work with an architectural practice working on trompe l'oeils. Sophie Golaz lived and worked around southern France and Monaco. She died in 2001.
