Charles Hunt

There were two Charles Hunts: father and son, both of whom engraved their own designs and those of their contemporaries. Father and son frequently collaborated on plates. The father was born in 1806 and his son in 1830 and previous generations of the family had also made a living as engravers. Both became famous in the sporting print trade because of the precision and beauty of their exact engravings, which generally featured either hunting or racing scenes.
