Stan Kaminski

Stan Kaminski was born in Banbury in 1952 to Polish parents. He was brought up in the Cotswolds and in Birmingham and, at the age of 18, began a 3-year apprenticeship at a design studio in Birmingham. He left the studio at the age of 21 to work in a variety of advertising agencies as a designer and art director. As he neared the age of 30, Stan Kaminski decided to go freelance as a full time illustrator and his work has subsequently appeared in national poster campaigns for several major clients. He also began to sell his original paintings and, in 1997, he won joint First Prize in the Solomon Whitehead National Painting Competition. Stan Kaminski now concentrates principally on producing oil paintings of wildlife from his own reference material, much of which has been collected on trips to Kenya. His paintings have been sold at Sotheby's and Christie's, and his originals are now held by collectors all over the world.
