Born in 1820, Albert Ludovici was a painter of genre scenes and the father of the painter Albert Ludovici junior. He lived mainly in Paris but was a participant in the major London exhibitions, exhibiting over 224 works at Suffolk Street and showing his work at the Royal Academy between 1854 and 1894. He died in 1894.
