Pierre Lapin

Born in Paris, France, in 1946, Pierre Lapin's career as a full-time artist did not start until 1978, although he found a talent for painting and drawing at a young age. After his education in Paris, Pierre Lapin began lecturing in art at colleges and schools in France. However, he soon decided to take up painting and, although he had painted from his childhood, the widespread acceptance of his work and increasing artistic recognition for it were the factors that brought about his change in profession. Pierre Lapin has developed his own unique style of painting and works mainly with collage and with crayons and inks. As well as his work on general design projects, he has a particular interest in life-style magazines and contemporary design and, as a hobby, he also likes to draw scenes from old Western films. Whilst away from his studio, he enjoys gardening, theatre, cinema, jogging and he is also a knowledgeable collector of antiques.
