Malva

An impressionist noted for his landscapes and figures, Malva is one of Austria's most distinguished contemporary artists. He was drawn to nature as a child and expressed his attraction early on through drawing and paintings. Malva staged his first exhibition at the age of seventeen, consisting of thirty-five oil paintings in a style reminiscent of Van Gogh and he enjoyed immediate success. During the 1970s Malva participated in many European art exhibitions, thus increasing the popularity of his work and establishing his reputation. In 1978 Malva became an Austrian citizen and from this time, his paintings became more independent from figures and new forms dominated the canvas. His naturalistic style in turn gave way to a new impressionism. Malva has participated in exhibitions world wide including ones held in Vienna, Berlin, Madrid, Milan and throughout the United States of America.
