< back Boris O'Klein
Little is known about the artist Boris O'Klein, but it is suspected that the artist probably painted under an alias.
Under this name, O'Klein was a noted caricaturist, usually featuring either dogs or cats and incorporating gently saucy humorous scenes, often involving a battle of the sexes between males and females of the species.
O'Klein appears to have flourished during the 1920s and 1930s. His original hand-coloured etchings proved to be very popular, not only in Europe but also around the world, where they were bought back from trips to Europe by visiting tourists.
