Simon Paulson

Simon Paulson was born in Liverpool in 1966 and grew up in Liverpool and the surrounding suburbs of Cheshire. As a child, his main artistic influence came from comic books and his first job after leaving school was as the cartoonist for a local newspaper. Later he also became fascinated with the artistic possibilities of graffiti and much of his work today still shows his fascination with these two early sources of inspiration. Originally his artistic skills were largely self-taught, but he decided to turn professionally to art in his 30s and thus returned to his education both for training and to take a degree. He is now a full-time freelance illustrator and greetings card designer. Away from the world of art, Simon Paulson enjoys football, music, playing the drums and scuba-diving. His work has appeared on prints and greetings cards all over the world.
