Ruud Verkerk

The Dutch Realist painter Ruud Verkerk was born in Stolwijk in 1957 and he still lives in the Netherlands. He graduated form the Academy of Art in 1980 and immediately became a professional painter. His early work was based on fantasy but he soon moved to the painting of landscapes, flowers and still life, which is such a typical feature of Dutch Realist painting. Noted in particular for his beautiful still life compositions and for his subtle use of colour, Ruud Verkerk's work has been published in several books and featured in many prestigious exhibitions. Amongst the collectors of his original paintings is Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands and Ruud Verkerk's paintings are held in numerous important collections around the world.
