Tim White

Tim White completed his MA in Photography in 2001 and now exhibits his work throughout the United Kingdom. He has both held solo shows and been represented in larger group shows, and his work is now held in numerous private collections. The Art Review declared in 2003: `There is a commanding purity to White's photographs. At first these calming land and seascapes appear empty and void, but there is a depth to the space, and White's painterly technique opens up the two-dimension space`. Tim White selects images carefully via a number of aesthetic criteria. He chooses those where detail has been profoundly reduced and where flatness has been enhanced. The quality of light and climatic conditions are key. The Independent newspaper wrote in 2003: `Seductive in their purity of colour, Tim White's seascapes seem to stretch out for an eternity of minimal calm`. He has won a number of awards and his photographs have been exhibited in London, San Francisco and New York.
