Douglas Yan

Douglas Yan was born and brought up in Hong Kong, although he relocated to the United States after completing High School to study graphic design. As a child, Douglas Yan was encouraged to study art by his family, but particularly by his older sister, Dominique. The pair spent much of their childhood drawing and painting at home. When asked to describe his artwork, Douglas Yan comments only: `Simplicity equals beauty`. The stripped-down and highly designed feel to his photography have proved to be enormously popular, not just in Hong Kong but also in Europe and northern America. Working principally with a digital camera and equipment and inspired by a love both of nature and design, Douglas Yan is a young artist with a great future ahead of him. Away from his artistic career, Douglas Yan enjoys tennis and singing.
