Andrew Geiger

Artist Biography:

Andrew Geiger was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and now lives full time in the mountains of Montana near Glacier National Park, where he spent the majority of his childhood vacations. As a child he was much influenced by his mother, who was a teacher, always pushing him to use his imagination when he became bored. He has now been a full time artist and photographer for over 29 years, alternating between personal or art inspired imagery and assignment work for magazines and commercial advertising clients. While occasionally using hand-developed film and toned silver gelatin darkroom prints, he has embraced the digital photography world as of late. He has participated in many exhibitions, including several travelling exhibits, one entitled Faces of Ethiopia and another Bamako to Tomboctou: a Photographic Odyssey Across West Africa. Andrew's work both commercial and personal has appeared in 1000's of print and web publications worldwide. Andrew Geiger is particularly proud of the work he undertook in Mali, West Africa, Ethiopia and Myanmar and comments: "When I die, this will be the body of work to carry my soul onward." Living in Montana, his hobbies include flyfishing, canoeing, biking, caving, whitewater rafting, camping and traveling with his two daughters and wife both domestically and abroad.
