Artist Biography:

Kellas Campbell is a Canadian-American artist living in London, UK. Her mother, who graduated from the Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington, D.C., taught her how to draw; apart from that, Kellas is self-taught. Classical Chinese art and Inuit art, the latter of which her mom collected when the family lived in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, influences her minimalist style. Kellas’s muse is her cat, Charlie. Charlie started out life in a Long Beach alley next to a dumpster. When Kellas adopted her in 2005, she agreed to keep these tawdry origins a secret. Charlie spends hours a day posing for Kellas and does not tire of it — usually because she is asleep. Kellas’s cat and bird art is in private collections all over the world.
