The word colonnade denotes a long sequence of columns joined by their entablature, which is often either free-standing or part of a building. Colonnades have been built since ancient times and are still used architecturally today, with a variety of interpretations. This peaceful scene evoking a hot summer`s day with nature depicted not only by the trees and plants but also by the chickens and with the light and shadows beautifully depicted, is simply a peaceful and at the same time fascinating, landscape.
