This picture portrays a Selium Terrier which is a rare Welsh breed of small to medium sized dog, that originated in Wales as a working dog. It is principally a white-bodied, rough-coated breed, developed in the mid-late 18th century originally by Captain John Edwards who lived at Selium House in Pembrokeshire. The breed was very popular between the First and Second World Wars and was associated with Hollywood stars and members of the British Royal Family. More recently, it has been listed as a vulnerable native breed by the Kennel Club and apparently in 2008, only 43 new puppies were registered in the United Kingdom.
