Dyf creates a scene set in late autumn where the trees and leaves have disintegrated into all shades of orange and brown, the scene is still and you do not feel much movement or interaction amongst the trees bar the leaves on the ground by the river bed and the trickle of waves in the river. Dyfs gifted impressionist style creates warmth within his colour palette used and the slight breakthrough of sun reflecting off the river sets the time of day. Landscapes and views of the blissful French outdoors, including fields, rivers and sceneries were ultimately Dyfs second favourite subject to paint, first was his young beautiful wife Claudine. He first learnt how to capture the beauty of the outdoors in Morocco where he studied landscape, however throughout his life Dyf would go on to only paint the outdoors of his beloved France.
