This subject appeared in Vanity Fair on February 1891. Fishing images were quite rare in the weekly work by Sir Leslie Ward, better known as Spy. Vanity Fair was printed by Vincent Brooks, Day and Son Lithographers and the character is portrayed in his waders, fishing jacket of the period and a very serious rod with a beautiful fishing fly on the end of the line.
